Charles Reyl, PhD
Charles is the co-founder and President of Parity Energy. Prior to forming Parity Energy, Charles was a principal at Kiodex, a venture-capital-backed energy risk-management web-service company. During his tenure, the business expanded from zero to over hundred customers and underwent a successful acquisition by SunGard. Prior to Kiodex, Charles was a Vice President in the Global Modeling and Analytics Group at Credit Suisse First Boston in New York, Tokyo and Sydney. As a quantitative analyst, he worked with trading and sales to structure and risk-manage derivative transactions. Charles holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Maryland at College Park and a Diploma in Physics from the Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich, Switzerland.
Louis Pellathy, MS
Lou is the co-founder and Vice President of Brokerage at Parity Energy. He brings privileged access to energy liquidity providers and takers, as well as a quantitative approach to brokering. Prior to joining Parity Energy, Lou led the OTC crude oil derivatives desk at Man Financial, launched the product options desk at StarSupply (made possible by financial models he introduced), settled market-on-close orders on the floor of NYMEX, traded crude oil and heat crack futures and options at Texaco and executed trades at a New York based hedge fund. Lou has a Masters in Science from Cornell University, where he worked on the creation of financially settled hourly contracts in power.
Brad Flaster
Brad is the Vice President of Operations at Parity Energy. He has worked in the energy brokerage business since 1999 and brings extensive experience in the strategic, tactical and short-term operations management of a brokerage company. Most recently, Brad was the Head of Operations for North-America and the Data Sales Manager at TFS Energy, a global market leader in the inter-dealer brokering of OTC physical and derivative products with five US energy offices and over 150 brokers covering energy derivatives. As TFS' Data Sales Manager, Brad built a market data distribution operation from scratch with a P&L under $1 million. Brad was also the Compliance Officer at TFS Energy Futures, a regulated unit of TFS, where he was responsible for all futures related business regulated by the National Futures Association. Prior to his tenure at TFS, Brad was the Operations and IT manager at a Connecticut-based OTC brokerage firm, Sakura Dellsher Inc. and worked as a phone clerk on the floor of the NYMEX. Brad has a BA in Mathematics from Washington & Lee University in Lexington, VA.
Joshua Davis
Joshua is the Vice President of Technology at Parity Energy. Joshua has been developing custom and commercial software products since 1986. Over the years he has built systems in many domains including electronics CAD, software development tools, computer language design, B2B e-commerce, and most recently commodity risk management. For many of these systems, Joshua was the technical lead, taking the product from a concept through to several commercial releases. Prior to joining Parity Energy, Joshua was the System Architect for the Kiodex Risk Workbench, which is a web based service that provides risk analysis tools for more than one hundred commodity trading firms. Joshua is also active in the Open Source Software community, most notably with his participation in the Hibernate 3.0 release, which played an important part in shaping one of the fundamental components of the Java Enterprise 5 standard. Currently, Josh is developing an Open Source parallel processing grid framework for Java. Joshua has a BS in Computer Science from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY.
Kent Vogel
Kent is the Vice President of Trading Solutions at Parity Energy. Kent has extensive experience in building and organizing technology teams in domains ranging from derivatives risk-management to telecoms. Prior to joining Parity Energy, Kent was the Senior Vice President of Technology at Sungard Kiodex, heading up the IT, Software Development, and QA groups for their commodity risk management product. He expanded the company by adding cost-effective new offices in India and New Zealand. Prior to Kiodex, Kent was a Software Development Manager at AT&T and worked at Microsoft on the development of Windows NT. Kent holds a BS in computer science from the University of Utah.
